Dorm Room Excitement!

It's August! You know what that means...well for some of us... it means back to school! Usually everyone dreads going back but I know the one thing that keeps me looking forward to school is decorating my dorm! It's a creativity field day for me. I spent all summer looking and searching for the things that I hope can help me create my own little sanctuary to study and relax. Can the 24th get here any faster???

Here are some photos of my last dorm that I loved oh so much, but this year I get my own room so I can deff go all out this time.

Last year I had more of a reddish purple thing going on. I usually try to match everything with my tapestry, but that's the same thing I did my freshman year and I really want to switch it up. SO this year I going for a more cool blue. Hopefully it'll keep me more relaxed during exam week than the red theme did...
I'm still on the hunt for little accents but I think for the most part I should be able to pull it off! We'll see! :)

Mermaid Hair

I have a very short attention span. I always get bored easily ESPECIALLY when it comes to my hair. I cant have straight hair too long or curly hair too long or i'll just get frustrated and never want to even look at my hair. However thanks to my weave addiction I can do different things like dye my hair BLUE.  Everyone seemed to think I was kidding when I said I was going to do it...

....Nope.

So how did I do it? Well it was actually quite easy.
The first thing I had to do was bleach the ends of my hair. Kind of like my ombre tutorial except with a higher developer to get that extra lift. It also helped that my hair was a slight ombre prior to the blue dye.
I had to make sure that I got my hair SUPER blonde as the color wouldn't be as vibrant. Once it was super blonde I got down to business. I had originally picked purple but I felt like that was kind of common so I went with Aqua for the the top of the transition to a sky blue (azure) for the bottom of it. The reason I did this was since the hair was so dark, I didn't want it to just randomly change colors I wanted more of a softer fade effect.

Hair color: 6.99 a tube (Sally's)
I used Ion color brilliance which was  great because there was no mixing and the colors were extremely vibrant. Then, I just painted it onto the hair and made sure I got every blonde spot. After that, I left it on for about three hours.

Then finally, I rinsed out the dye and deep conditioned it (very important!) and sewed it back into my hair. I instantly loved it and got so many compliments!

Downsides? Well, the color did tend to rub off on my lighter colored clothing and I eventually did get tired of it (of course..) but all and all I loved it and I think everyone should give bright hair a try!

Wynwood Arts District and Yin Yang Nail Art!

Tanktop: (Forever 21) $2.50
Wide Legged Pants: (Forever 21) $19.50
Black Sandals: (Target) $11.99
Necklace: (Forever 21) $2.50
Backpack (Ebay) $21.99

On Thursday, me and my friend went to the Wynwood Art District in Wynwood, Miami. Literally, if you love art and colorful drawings (like I do) you're going to loose your mind. Its one of the prettiest places I've been to. All of the walls are decorated in artistic and elaborate graffiti and drawings. I wont lie, it was in a sketchy part of town but honestly it wasn't even that bad. I wanted to take pictures of probably every single thing I laid my eyes on but that didn't happen because i'm a genius and forgot my camera at home...BUT I did get a lot of photos using my friend's phone camera!

The patience it took to do my nails...But it was actually really easy. Just painted 'em white and added the black swirl with a slow smooth stroke and fixed up my mistakes with a q-tip or another coat of nail polish. For the perfect dot, I had to MacGuyver a dotting tool and cut a q-tip in half and dipped them in nail polish. (make sure your nails are COMPLETELY dry between each coat!)

more art!

and of course guess where we went afterward...
(South Beach shoppin!)

Fun days in Miami..

Cold Day and Cheap Jewelry

 Sweater: Ralph Lauren (Thrift)($10.00)
Black Shirt: Forever 21($2.50)
Jeggings: Forever 21($10.50)
Today it decided to be cold in Florida randomly. Its never really cold here so I literally had to scavenge to find something to wear so I didn't freeze to death as soon as I walked outside.
But this post is more about accessories. Since my outfit was a little plain and pretty basic, I put on a bunch of fun trinkets.
Skinny Bracelet.
I got a bunch of these skinny bracelets at Forever 21 for $1.50 each. I have this one which, if you look closely, looks like the silhouette of a kitty.  I also have two others, one is an anchor and the other is a cross.

Midi Rings.
I got these midi rings also at Forever 21 for $4.50 for a pack of 3 or 4 I believe. I love these rings! I just think their so fun and look really awesome. Also please excuse my horrid nail polish. haha.

Tiny Earrings.
The earrings in this photo are smaller than they appear. I got them from Urban Outfitters. They were originally $8.00 and $6.00, but I got a deal when I bought them. I purchased them with the hat from my last post. I don't remember the deal exactly but I ended up paying like $3 dollars for both pairs in the end.    YAY SALES!

Geometical Necklace.
I bought this necklace from Forever 21 like 2 years ago. I always get compliments on it because its so trippy looking and 3-D. It' broke twice due to my carelessness but it hasn't really tarnished. I don't remember how much it cost though unfortunately.

But yeah, that's what I wore. I'm gonna stay inside until it stops being cold.
Thanks for reading my post! :)

Miami Zoo! (Zoo OOTD)

So today I went to the zoo! It was awesome. There were so many animals and most of them were soo cute and I just wanted to take them with me back to my house! (not really because they smelled a little funky) I have probably only been to the zoo once in my life and that was forever ago, so I had a lot of fun.
Hat: Urban Outfitters ($39.50)
Shirt: Forever 21($12.50)
Shorts: Thrift (Goodwill)($5.00)
Socks: Forever 21($4.50)
Boots: W Shoes($32.00)
Prices heavily estimated since I bought a lot of it a very long time ago.
I wanted to be themed for going to the zoo because I find excitement in being themed. What better way to be themed than a Safari hat, tiger shirt, and combat boots? I'd like to think that I nailed it.
Here's some pictures!

All in all I had a great time and I might go back really soon. :)
Thanks for readin' ma post!
